Petrasco appointed to manage end-to-end logistics coordination of shipment

Last quarter, Petrasco successfully managed the transportation of 1,891 joints of surplus OCTG pipe from Douala, Cameroon to Houston, USA under CFR Incoterms. Using a tailored part-charter solution aboard a Multipurpose Heavy Lift/General Cargo Vessel, the shipment was completed safely and on schedule.

Petrasco provided end-to-end logistics coordination, including vessel chartering, pre-loading inspections, cargo loading supervision, marine survey management, cargo condition monitoring, and ongoing client reporting throughout the project.

The volume of cargo made conventional container shipping impractical, requiring a specialist breakbulk solution. The project involved coordinating multiple stakeholders across different countries while ensuring cargo integrity, maintaining schedule commitments, and providing continuous visibility to the client.

Leveraging its project cargo and chartering expertise, Petrasco secured a suitable part-charter vessel and implemented a robust supervision and reporting process. This included independent inspections, loading supervision, marine surveys, and detailed reporting of cargo condition, ensuring transparency and reducing risk throughout the shipment.

The shipment of 1,891 pipe joints was successfully transported from Cameroon to Houston and discharged within the planned schedule. Effective survey management and operational oversight ensured the project was completed safely and efficiently, demonstrating Petrasco's capability to deliver complex international project cargo movements.
