A team from across Denholm Energy Services (DES) Group has successfully completed a fundraising challenge by climbing Ben Nevis in support of Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE), formerly the Royal British Legion Industries, which supports veterans across the UK.
The challenge saw team members tackle the UK's highest mountain, standing at 1,345 metres, to raise both awareness and vital funds for veterans in need. Together, they raised almost £18,000 in support of RBVE's work, including a £10,000 contribution from DES.
Adding to the challenge, Tony Phipps carried a fridge to the summit, symbolising the often unseen burden carried by many serving personnel and veterans facing mental health challenges, including anxiety, trauma and isolation.
In recognition of the team’s efforts, RBVE invited Tony Phipps, Alan Froud and Marcus Howarth to attend the Armed Forces Day celebrations on 26 June 2026, where they received an award on behalf of DES for the company's support and fundraising achievements.
Congratulations to all who took part and helped raise both awareness and much-needed funds for such an important cause - a fantastic achievement from everyone involved.
